About the CCAFS-   The Lighthouse has stood since the mid 1800's and is a historical landmark in Brevard.   The CCAFS is rich in history with many "firsts" launched from it including the first U.S. satellite (1958), and the first U.S. astronaut (1961).  It is also home of the Air Force Air and Space Museum.

Pack 337's Service Project History - Each year, Pack 337 performs a service project for the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.   The last few years, we cleanup up the grave yards of the early keepers of the lighthouse because the descendents are elderly and unable to maintain it.  We have also  cleaned up around the location of the original Cape Canaveral Light House, and then do a beach cleanup.  The Cape Canaveral Air Force Station is rich in history and Pack 337 is doing it's part to help maintain that history for the community!Mike Gawell, Shuttle Program Coordinator for the US Air Force

About Our Host - Mike Gawell (pictured to the right), a former leader in Pack 337, and the current Space Shuttle Program Support Manager for the Air Force will host our service project and tour.  Over the years, he has given our Pack a unique personal tour of the area, including missile firing block houses, Apollo launch pads, the light house, the museum,  and the highly guarded building Mike works in (very interesting).   Mike is offering the Pack a very unique tour, tailored for us and is not opened to the public.   Thanks Mike!

Who Can Attend -  The service project and tour is open to Cub Scouts of Pack 337, their parents, and Cub-aged siblings and higher.  Please do not bring younger children and babies.   There are at time no bathroom facilieis, long walks, physically demanding serive work, and facilities which are not well suited to young children and babies.  Thank You.

Project Schedule - It is very important that you arrive on time.   If you arrive late, we will not be able to wait for you and you will not be able to get in.   Also, plan on staying for the full duation of the project.   Leaving early is not an option because an escort is always required.  The following is a schedule of our project:
